I still can't believe that we'll be boarding a plane in just one week to bring our baby girl home! We are busy planning, packing and preparing, but it seems so surreal!
We have been so grateful for all of the support that we've received over the last five years. Our hearts are overflowing as we reflect on all of the emails, cards, gifts, donations and words of encouragement that we have received! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
With the end in sight, we still need to raise close to $3,000 to cover various expenses, including the required post-placement social worker visits, home study paperwork and court appointment costs to finalize our adoption. Our dear friends have offered to purchase a 16 GB Google Nexus 7 tablet for our final raffle. As some of you may remember, we raised $2,750 through our iPod raffle in 2010. The Nexus 7 is valued at $250. Our friends will mail the Nexus to the winners at the end of the raffle.
To read more about the Nexus, visit: The Google Nexus 7 (16 GB)
Here are a few details:
Manufactured by ASUS for Google, the Nexus 7 is the hottest Android tablet in the market today.
It features a fast quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, stunning graphics architecture, a great 7-inch screen and most importantly a relatively affordable price tag of $259.00 for the 16GB version.
Nexus 7 is the only tablet that ships with a much improved Google Android OS version 4.1 codenamed Jelly Bean. This revision ushers in some compelling new features that improve user experience and functionality. You also get a front facing camera and dual microphones for video chats on Google + or Skype.
We will give one "ticket" for every $10 donation made to Lifesong for Orphans for our adoption. We'll draw the winner on Sat, Sept 15, and announce it on our blog. Please spread the word. The information for how to donate is located on the upper, right side of this blog. Donations can be given online via Paypal or mailed to Lifesong. If you choose to mail your donation to Lifesong, checks must be mailed by Sept 9 (in order to be processed before the raffle).
Thank you for helping us to bring Hailey home! We can't wait to see who the winner will be!
We are an ordinary family traveling on a lifelong journey with an extraordinary God. Our family is passionate about serving others. We believe that God has specifically called us to advocate for orphans, adoption and to bring relief to the poor. Thank you for being part of our journey! The Vision
God spoke this vision regarding our adoption journey to Barbara Lange on March 26, 2010...
"Jenni,
I have made the decision to speak our boldly when God speaks to me. Last night as I was washing the dishes I received this "vision" of you. I hesitate to use the word "vision," but what I saw was a slide of your life. As I watched the show in my mind I began to cry because I was so touched by what I saw. You and I have shared many tears these last couple of years, both sorrow and joy. The attachment is what I saw.

FRAME 3
The anguished look of a woman desperately wanting to have children. Unsuccessful fertility treatements.
FRAME 4
God watching over His daughter, His heart breaking as tears flow down her cheeks. He whispers in her ear, "My child, I know how broken you feel, but I have a great plan and purpose for your life. This anguish, this heartbreak, this pain will subside. Joy is on its' way. I needed you to suffer in this way because of My plan is for you. You are going to be an advocate for international adoptions. You are going to spread my gospel this way.

Jenni prepares for third trip to El Salvador in one year. Amazing things happen.
FRAME 14 - THE FINAL FRAME...
Mike and Jenni, standing now, older, graying hair, surrounded by their sons and their wives, their daughters and their husbands and their grandchildren. Below them are thousands of children joyously celebrating Jenni's life. Her passion to follow her Father's call and purpose on her life is fulfilled. These thousands of children represent all of the orphans, adoptions and ripple affect of her life's work.
A work that could not be accomplished without the pain, suffering and brokeness she endured trying to become a mom.
Well done, my good and faithful servant."
